Hi! I’m Celisse Starr Sanchez, a junior at the Rhode Island School of Design, studying Illustration with the goal of becoming a book illustrator and author. I’ve been creating art since I was young, and in 6th grade, I realized I could turn my passion into a career. While my dreams shifted over the years—from child psychologist to kindergarten teacher,my passion has always been in the arts.

At RISD, I’ve grown as both an artist and a storyteller. Whether through children’s books, poetry, or personal essays, I’ve discovered my love for sharing life experiences through art. While I’ve experimented with various mediums, I’ve found a passion for gouache and digital illustration, and I’m excited to explore mixed media in the future.
